EL DÍA, Los Llanos
La Consejería de Obras Públicas y Transportes del Gobierno de Canarias, a instancias de su consejero, Juan Ramón Hernández, ha autorizado una inversión de 1,5 millones de euros para la colocación de barreras de protección y seguridad para motoristas en varias carreteras de La Palma, principalmente aquellas de nueva construcción. En total, según los datos aportados por la Consejería, se instalan unos 65 kilómetros de nuevas protecciones en la Isla.
Destaca las actuaciones a realizar en la carretera del sur, que une Bajamar (Breña Alta) y Tajuya (Los Llanos), con 33 kilómetros de recorrido, como parte del nuevo proyecto de mejora y acondicionamiento de esta vía. A esta se une la carretera del norte entre San Andrés y Sauces, Barlovento y Cruz Castillo (Garafía), en la que se reforzarán 27 kilómetros de barreras.
En menor medida se ha intervenido en otros dos tramos importantes. Se ha dotado de nuevas protecciones a la LP-3, desde Santa Cruz de La Palma, en la zona del enlace del Molino (1,5 kilómetros), y a la LP-2 entre Los Llanos y Tazacorte, en cuanto al acceso al Puerto, con 2,2 kilómetros.
En todos los casos se ha cuidado el aspecto ambiental de cada vía.
